# Holistica V26 — cPanel MySQL adapter repair

This package registers PyMySQL as MySQLdb and accepts either `DB_ENGINE=mysql` or `DB_ENGINE=django.db.backends.mysql`. It does not alter models, migrations or data.

## Deployment
1. Back up your live database, uploaded media and current application files.
2. Replace application code with this version while preserving your private `.env`, `media/`, and existing database. Do not overwrite them with example values.
3. In the cPanel Python 3.9 virtual environment: `python -m pip install -r requirements-cpanel.txt`.
4. Set `DB_ENGINE=django.db.backends.mysql` in the private `.env`, and retain your actual `DB_NAME`, `DB_USER`, `DB_PASSWORD`, `DB_HOST`, `DB_PORT`.
5. Run `python manage.py check` and `python manage.py migrate --plan`. Inspect output before running migrations.
6. After confirming a backup and reviewing migration plans, run `python manage.py migrate` if needed.
7. Run `python manage.py collectstatic --noinput` and restart the Passenger app in cPanel.
8. Verify CSS, banners, image cards, service pages, logins, bookings and staff access. User-uploaded media must remain in its persistent media directory and be served by your web server.

## Important
Python 3.9 and Django 4.2 are out of security support. This compatibility package is for staging/testing, not real patient data. Move to a host offering supported Python and Django versions before live clinical use. Never publish `.env`, SQLite databases, or patient files under public_html.
